AAA: Bill to Increase Speed Limit to 70 MPH Jeopardizes Lives of Roadway Users

AURORA, Ill.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AAA opposes Senate Bill 3668, which would increase the speed limit on Illinois highways outside the Chicago metro area to 70 mph for both cars and trucks. This bill comes less than three months after a new law took effect, which allows large tractor-trailer trucks to travel at 65 mph on these roads as opposed to 55 mph.
