What do they mean by cleaning your desk top to make the computers performance better?

Does getting rid of the icons on my desk top help my computers performance? What else can i do to help my computers performance, other than defrag, dic clean up and taking programs off of start up?

    No, the icons on your desktop do not slow anything down, they are tiny files. Aside from what you’ve mentioned, you can disable services and processes, that’s the most effective.

    removing unused icons from your desktop will make very little difference at all.

    It’s a simple procedure…

    Draw a bath with lots of water. Turn your PC on. Place in the water. Be sure to scrub with anti-bacterial soap so all the bugs are killed.

    Desktop may have applications on it you don’t use so even if you delete the icon the program remains installed I would go next with a adware malware scan also make sure windows if using said os and antivirus are up to date. If these don’t help may need to install more RAM or faster processor also see if you can install a 64 bit os
